As reported in Women's Wear Daily today, we are are delighted to announce that Exhibitionist made the cut and is one of the new members to be accepted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The CFDA is an exclusive trade association of Americas foremost fashion and accessory designers. Founded in 1962, the CFDA's mission is to advance the status of fashion design as a branch of American art and culture, as well as to support working designers in the early stages and throughout their careers. "We are honored to be part of such an illustrious organization and look forward to meeting the other members of this talented community," said designer Michael Spirito and his business partner, Sloan Mandell, when told of the news. Exhibitionist designer Michael Spirito was awarded the the GenArt Design Vision Award in 2002, and went on to place as a finalist in the 2003 Rising Star Awards. The Exhibitionist line is now sold internationally, in its own NYC store on Orchard Street as well as in exclusive boutiques. Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, and Jennifer Hudson are all Exhibitionist enthusiasts, and have been photographed for numerous cover shoots and red carpet events wearing the line.
